As a couple we have always sensed that one of the reasons we were brought together was to use our own life experience to help others reach their potential. Resilience is the fulfillment of that dream. Resilience was born out of our own experience with the many ups and downs of life and the realization that our greatest obstacles, whether in life, relationships, or in our career, can become our greatest opportunities. The key, as we have discovered firsthand, is learning to face reality head on and move through our difficulties, rather than trying to avoid them. Challenges are unavoidable and often outside of our control. But how we respond to what happens to us makes all the difference.
With over a decade in pastoral ministry, we draw on our experience caring for people, as well as our background in Mental Health Counseling, to help you build resilience to get through what's holding you back.
Brittney received her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She enjoys working with young adults and individuals who feel “stuck” in life. She is passionate about helping people navigate difficult life challenges and helping them find wholeness out of the broken parts of their story. Through her own counseling journey, she has first-hand knowledge of how healing it is to be seen and heard by a caring counselor. Her personal experiences with counseling and the healing it brought in her life led her to pursue counseling as a career. Brittney and Trevor have served together in full-time ministry for over a decade. Through her ministry involvement she has gained significant experience mentoring and counseling young adults and teens in a pastoral counseling setting. Brittney uses a relational approach to counseling as she believes this is the core of the counseling relationship. She hopes to walk alongside you as you explore your story, the good and bad, and help you uncover a new way forward through it all.
In her free time, Brittney loves to go to the beach and spend time with her husband, Trevor, and their dog Teddy. She is involved at her church and enjoys exploring new restaurants in the Orlando area. She has previous ministry experience, has lived in Spain as a church planter with Trevor, and traveled throughout Latin America and Europe.
Trevor received his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. With a background in pastoral ministry, Trevor has over 12 years of counseling experience, working specifically with children, teens, young adults, and parents. As someone who has been through counseling himself, Trevor knows firsthand how intimidating the idea of counseling can be. Trevor’s approach is personable and down-to-earth. His goal is to disarm the stigmas and hesitations people often feel toward counseling and help his clients feel comfortable and cared for on a personal level.
Trevor’s passion is helping the next generation build mental and emotional resilience to face life’s challenges and live more fully. Trevor has spoken nationally and internationally on child and adolescent development. As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, Trevor focuses on building emotionally strong families. Trevor leads regular groups and workshops on a variety of topics, including ADHD, Anxiety, and Social and Emotional Skills.
Personally, Trevor loves being outdoors, doing anything active, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with his family.
